Lion-tracking in Queen Elizabeth National Park

After a very early breakfast, we drive towards the Gate, where we pickup James, who is going to do the 'lion-tracking’ with us.  He has the material to track the lions.
Nearby a small village at Kazinga-channel, we find the first group of lions, 2 young females en 2 young males. They are this close to the village because they smell the goats.
We drive on in the park, and soon we find another group, 3 females en 2 cubs.
Not only lions on the programme today, also a big group of eliphants.

A little bit later, we find a third groep, from which the young lions are hanging in the trees, trying to sleep.

Dry season in Kidepo Valley

Because of the dry season we see a lot of eliphants, but not so many lions.
The eliphants are now everywhere, looking for water.

But the lions are difficult to see in the dry grass.
If you come during wet season, the lions will come out of the grass and you will find them on top of the rocks.

Kidepo Valley

Today i visited Kidepo Valley for the first time.  I drove from Kampala, through Gulu, and the road was very good.

The eliphants came to greet us.
